Price and Conditions of Sale
The consumer price for a Confidante® test is listed at the point of retail purchase and may be amended at any time. All prices are ‘total’ and full payment must be made prior to the test being conducted.
Testing Process
The process for conducting the test is detailed in the User Instructions leaflet supplied in the Confidante box.
Restrictions
You must be at least 16 years of age to take a Confidante test. The urine or swab sample that you supply must be your own. The age of consent for sexual activity in the UK is 16 years and in the Republic of Ireland 17 years. It is therefore illegal to engage in sexual activity below this age. This testing kit is for the use of those persons aged 16 or over only. A positive test result in any person found to be below this age will be referred to the appropriate child protection authority.
Expiry Date
Certain items supplied in the Confidante® box have a limited shelf life. It is your responsibility to ensure that the Confidante test is used before the expiry date shown on the packaging.
Sample Delivery
You should send your urine or swab sample to us as soon as you have collected it, within 24 hours at the latest; we may still be able to test a sample if it is received within 3 days of collection. We will analyse samples received within this time if we believe it to be in a suitable condition.
Testing
Randox Laboratories Limited will make every reasonable endeavour to analyse your sample and to provide you with a results report. However, if you have not undertaken the test in accordance with the User Instructions, or have failed to complete the Test Order Form correctly, we may not be able to process your sample; should this occur, we may provide you with a new Confidante® test at no additional charge, at our own discretion. In this circumstance any money already paid will not be refunded.
Results Delivery
Following receipt of your sample, we aim to provide your results in the delivery manner you have chosen and within 7 working days of our laboratory receiving your sample. Delivery dates for test results are approximate only and Randox Laboratories Limited will not be held liable for any delay in delivery. We may deliver your results earlier than the time indicated within this document.
Purpose
Confidante® should be used for initial screening purposes as a convenient and confidential way of getting tested quickly for a suspected STI. The results are not intended to replace medical advice, nor should they be used as a full diagnosis, or to prescribe medication, without consulting your GP (doctor) or appropriate medical professional. The report that you will receive will explain your test results and suggest the course of action you should pursue based upon them.
Accuracy
Laboratory testing will always have a small degree of variability and 100% accuracy of all test results cannot be guaranteed. However, Randox Laboratories Limited’s operational and reporting processes work within rigorously defined industry standards to provide exceptionally high accuracy.
Refunds
If you wish to return an unused Confidante® test for refund, you must contact the retailer from whom you made the purchase. This process will be subject to the respective retailer’s own return policies. Proof of purchase will be required. Orders placed on Confidantetest.com will be refunded within 7 working days sudject to the same conditions.
Liability
The goods and services supplied to you are strictly for private use only and you agree not to use the goods for any resale or commercial purposes. Nothing in these terms or conditions excludes or limits the liability of Randox Laboratories Limited as follows: -
- for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or
- under section 2 of the Consumer Protection Act 1987, or
- for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or
- by the conditions implied under section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 or
- by the conditions implied under section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982.
Randox shall not be liable to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, or any claims for indirect compensation whatsoever, which may arise out of, or in connection with, the use of the goods or services provided. Randox’s total liability in contract, tort, misrepresentation or otherwise; arising in connection with the performance of these conditions, shall be limited to losses which are a foreseeable consequence of the failure to comply with these terms and conditions only.
